Are you wondering if Disneyland has a waterpark?

Sadly, there is no waterpark at Disneyland or the California Adventure Park across the street in Anaheim, California, and there might not be one in the near future as well.

There are some water rides at Disneyland and California Adventure Park where you can expect to get a little or a lot wet, like Grizzly River Run and Splash Mountain (which is now closed and being replaced with a new water ride coming in 2024).

Several hotels near Disneyland have mini water parks and water features, which are great for families to cool off in the afternoons after visiting the theme parks.

So, even though Disneyland does not have a waterpark, there are several ways in which you can enjoy some splashing fun on your trip to Disneyland.

Water rides at Disneyland and California Adventure

Both theme parks have a couple of water rides that are great for those hot summer days! There are also several boat rides, but you will not get soaked in these; you will only feel a little splash.

There is a water fountain/water globe structure in both parks where I have seen kids playing with the water ball, but I wouldn’t call that a water park or even something kids should be playing with! It’s just a water fountain. In Disneyland, it’s in Tomorrowland, and in California Adventure, it’s in the Pixar Pier area.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Coming to Disneyland in 2024!)

In May 2023, Splash Mountain, a much-loved water ride in Disneyland’s Critter Country land, closed down. People enjoyed the ride because it had a big drop into water that would get everyone wet!

But don’t worry; Splash Mountain is getting a makeover! It will reopen as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, based on the movie “The Princess and the Frog.” The new version will have an exciting story and characters from the film. We are hoping this new ride is a water ride as well!

Grizzly River Run

Grizzly River Run is an exhilarating water ride in California Adventure Park that will get you wet and probably soaked. This thrilling attraction takes you on a wild river adventure through roaring rapids, twists, and turns.

In this ride, you will board circular rafts and navigate through the waters, getting soaked along the way. It’s one of the popular rides in California Adventure and great for those seeking a fun and refreshing experience on hot days.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean is an iconic water ride at Disneyland Park. In this ride, you hop aboard a boat with a group of people, and the boat gently floats through dark caves while you encounter animatronic pirates and witness epic battles on the high seas.

There are two gentle drops in the water, and if you are sitting in the front row or in the corner seats of the boat, you might get splashed. But otherwise, it’s a boat ride and not a thrill ride.

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise is a classic water ride at Disneyland Park. Step aboard a guided boat tour and embark on an exciting expedition through exotic jungles.

Encounter animatronic animals, navigate treacherous waters, and enjoy humorous commentary from your witty skipper. You might get splashed as some of the animatronic elephants spray water toward the boats!

It’s a Small World

“It’s a Small World” is a classic water-based boat ride and one of the most popular rides in Disneyland. The ride takes guests on a musical journey around the world, showcasing different cultures and countries.

In this ride, you will sit on a boat that floats through various scenes depicting diverse regions, accompanied by the iconic song “It’s a Small World,” sung in multiple languages.

It’s just a gentle indoor boat ride, and there are no water splashes or drops in this one.
