Looking for the best resorts in Las Vegas for families?

I’ve got you covered! I have been to Las Vegas more times than I can count, and several of those trips have been as a family with my kids, who were once babies, and now the most recent trip in 2024 when they are teens.

I am always amazed at the many awesome things to do in Vegas with families and so many amazing road trips and day trips near Vegas to explore.

When you think about Las Vegas, you might not think about it as a family destination. But let me assure you that Las Vegas has become increasingly family-friendly over the years with some amazing attractions geared towards families.

Some of the resorts on my list aren’t even attached to casinos, making it possible to avoid that atmosphere entirely when visiting with family. Many of these hotels have spectacular pool areas that are fun for kids and families.

Whether you want to stay on The Strip and be in the middle of the action or find a place off The Strip to take the family, my list has something for you.

So let’s get into the best family-friendly resorts and hotels in Vegas.

Best Resorts in Las Vegas for Families: My Top Picks

Although every resort on this list is great for families, below are my top picks depending on what you are looking for:

Casino-free, non-smoking Las Vegas Resort on the Strip – Vdara Hotel and Spa (luxury hotel with full kitchen suites). Park MGM has a casino, but it’s a non-smoking property.

Las Vegas Resort with best pools – Mandalay Bay (Wave pool, lazy river)

Best Vegas Resort with Apartment Suites and Casino-free – Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Desert Club Resort (we have stayed here recently and loved the spacious apartments and being next to The Sphere!)

Best Luxury Hotel on the Strip – Four Seasons (access to Mandalay Bay pools)

Best family resort off-strip – Tahiti Village Resort & Spa (apartment suites, large pool area with lazy river)

Best Family-friendly Hotels and Resorts on Las Vegas Strip

I think the best place to stay in Las Vegas is on the Strip, even for families. Most of the family-friendly Vegas attractions are on the Strip, and staying close by makes it easier to get to them. We usually stay on or near the Las Vegas Strip.

1. Vdara Hotel and Spa (Center Strip)

If you’re looking for a high-end, luxury Las Vegas experience while still being family-friendly, you’ll find it at Vdara.

We have stayed here before with kids and love the apartment-style suites with a living area and full kitchens. So handy to fix quick meals for kids. Also, extra living space is so much welcome with kids!

Vdara is located right in the middle of the ARIA Campus (formerly known as City Center) complex that also contains Aria, Cosmopolitan, and Waldorf Astoria, along with lots of shopping and restaurants.

Vdara is a non-gaming resort, meaning there is no casino on the property. We loved this the most about Vdara! You don’t have to worry about smelling the smoke or smelling like smoke after you walk through. It’s a luxurious experience from check-in until check-out.

Guests of the Vdara have access to the Aria pool and the Vdara pool, which is exclusive to Vdara guests.

The exclusivity of Vdara is an attractive option if you want to stay away from the casino environment and don’t mind spending a few extra bucks.

Family-friendly amenities at Vdara

  • Casino-free hotel
  • Suites with living area, dining area, and kitchens
  • Access to Vdara outdoor pool and Aria Resort pool.
  • Onsite restaurant, cafe, bar, and marketplace
  • Spa
  • Extra bed/crib available
  • Pet-friendly hotel

2. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas (Center Strip)

The Venetian is a great family-friendly resort in the prime center strip location, and the indoor Grand Canal Shops area with gondola rides is its main draw.

We have stayed at the Venetian before and loved the spacious split-level suites with a living area.

The pool area of the Venetian is massive and contains four pools of varying sizes and atmospheres. There are a few smaller, quieter pools as well if you’re looking for something quiet.

Some pools have music for a little more fun atmosphere. The biggest one is a great place to lay out and get some sun with a cool view of the hotel’s surroundings.

If your kiddos love the pool, you could spend hours every day of your trip at the Venetian pools.

The Venetian Grand Canal area instantly transports you to Venice. It is so beautiful with the fake sky and the water canal lined with high-end shops. The bridges over the canal were a top photo spot for my teens. This is one of the best places for shopping in Vegas.

You can also take the family for a gondola ride on the canals that go both indoors and outdoors and wind through the property. The Gondola ride is a unique and fun Vegas experience that makes you forget you’re even in the desert.

Family-friendly amenities at The Venetian

  • Several outdoor pools
  • Grand Canal Shoppes for gondola rides, shopping, and photo ops.
  • Several onsite restaurants and food court
  • Rooms and suites available that sleep 4 with Extra bed/crib available on request

3. Mandalay Bay Resort And Casino (South Strip)

Mandalay Bay has the best pool complex for kids and families. This pool area is large and sprawling and has a ton to offer! It’s reminiscent of a water park with all the elements it contains.

There is a large wave pool that’s a fun place to hang out and feel like you’re at the beach with your family. There is a height requirement to enter the wave pool, but if your child is taller than 48 inches or 4 feet tall, they can enter.

Mandalay Bay’s pool complex also contains a lazy river! You can bring inflatable tubes (or purchase/rent one from the shop nearby) for a relaxing float around the lazy river. It’s a looping lazy river, so no need to get up at all, just lay back and enjoy the float.

There are two other “lagoons” on-site that are more like regular pools, though still very pretty and scenic in their own right.

Mandalay Bay is also the home of the famous Shark Reef Aquarium, a fun way to spend the afternoon out of the sun.

Overall Mandalay Bay is a great resort to stay in Vegas with kids if a great pool and water fun is top on your list. I stayed here on a girls trip to Las Vegas and had blast with my friends.

Family-friendly amenities at Mandalay Bay

  • Massive pool complex with Wave pool, lazy river, and cabanas.
  • Shark Reef Aquarium
  • Several onsite restaurants
  • Rooms and suites available that sleep 4 with Extra bed/crib available on request

4. Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas (South Strip)

The Four Seasons is another luxury option that makes it possible to avoid the casino. Four Seasons is attached to the Mandalay Bay but does have a separate entrance, keeping it a non-gaming resort.

The cool thing about Four Seasons is you get all the high-end amenities that you’d expect from that brand, a beautiful room or suite, and an overall luxury experience like designer toiletries, plush bathrobes, and down comforters.

And you get access to the pool area of Mandalay Bay! The rooms are more expensive than Mandalay Bay, and rightfully so, but you might not mind that if you’re looking for luxury and exclusivity.

The option to still enjoy the best pool complex in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay is an added bonus!

Family-friendly amenities at Four Seasons

  • Access to Mandalay Bay’s massive pool complex with Wave pool, lazy river, and cabanas.
  • Full-service spa
  • Several onsite restaurants and bars
  • Extra beds/crib available
  • Babysitting Services available
  • Microwave available upon request

5. Park MGM Las Vegas (South Strip)

Formerly known as the Monte Carlo, Park MGM is the most recently revamped MGM resort. They’ve done a wonderful job updating it while making it eco-friendly and a desirable destination on the Las Vegas Strip for families.

In true Vegas fashion, Park MGM took a gamble! They decided to make their entire property smoke-free! Yes, including the casino.

It’s a great balance between the gaming and non-gaming properties because the smoke is usually the most undesirable part of the gaming properties.

Park MGM has also made itself a destination for dining. Eataly, the large food market inside Park MGM, has a ton of stands and restaurants offering delicious Italian food of all kinds. Whether you’re craving pizza, pasta, charcuterie, or tasty desserts, you’ll find it in Eataly.

Park MGM also has great proximity to fun, kid-friendly places like the always-popular M&M World, Coca-Cola World, and Hershey’s Chocolate World. My kids love to hang out at these stores!

The walk along The Park (the outdoor dining and shopping complex from where Park MGM gets its name) is also fun, especially if you’re a family of sports fans, as the west end of the Park is occupied by T-Mobile arena, home of the Stanley Cup winning Vegas Golden Knights.

Family-friendly amenities at Park MGM

  • Non-smoking resort, including the casino area
  • 3 outdoor pools and spa tub, cabanas for rent
  • Full-service spa
  • Several onsite restaurants, cafes, and bars
  • Extra beds/crib available
  • Pet-friendly

6. Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Desert Club Resort (Center Strip)

During our most recent Vegas trip with my family, we chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Desert Club Resort, which is right across the street from the Sphere and behind the LINQ Observatory Wheel.

We were going to be in Vegas for a week and were looking for an apartment-style suite to have more space.

Here we booked a two bedroom two bathroom suite with a living area and kitchen. My teens loved having their separate bathrooms with a lot of counter space for their products!

This resort is technically behind the center strip area, but we could easily Uber/drive to all the Strip attractions, restaurants, and shows. We loved looking at the changing patterns of The Sphere from our building.

Parking was right in front of our building, which helped after the long day trips from Vegas to outdoor attractions like Death Valley, Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon.

They have 5 outdoor pools and spa tubs on the property. They also have an arcade/game room.

Family-friendly amenities at Holiday Inn Club Vacations

  • Casino-free, smoke-free resort
  • Apartment suites with one or two bedrooms, living area, dining table, full kitchen, and washer/dryer.
  • 5 outdoor pools and two hot tubs
  • Arcade, game room
  • Free parking
  • Onsite restaurant
  • Extra beds/crib available

Best Family-friendly Resorts in Las Vegas Off Strip

Wondering where to stay in Las Vegas outside of the Strip area? If you want to take the family away from the seemingly nonstop action and throngs of people that The Strip can be, this next part of the list is for you!

These are the best resorts for families and kids away from The Strip.

7. JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa (Summerlin)

Twenty minutes west of The Strip in the Summerlin neighborhood, you’ll find JW Marriott Resort and Spa, which combines several elements that make up a great family-friendly resort – luxury, non-gaming, and a great pool area!

Technically, the JW Marriott is part of the Rampart Casino, but the casino is in an entirely different building, and they seem to be separate entities, so the dual branding is more of a confusion than a strength. Anyway, JW Marriott still classifies as non-gaming!

The rooms at JW Marriott are spacious and comfortable, with easy access to the pool area. The pool itself is huge and covers a lot of ground. It’s beautiful too, with rock formations, lots of trees and plant life, and waterfalls!

The cabanas at JW Marriott and my other off-the-strip resort choices are significantly cheaper, making a day at the pool much more affordable than resorts on The Strip.

The resort is next to a golf course for the golf lovers in the family. There is a full-service spa on the property as well.

Staying here provides close proximity to Red Rock Canyon, which has many family-friendly activities like hiking and scenic drives. There are several Red Rock Canyon tours available as well.

Family-friendly amenities at JW Marriott

  • Outdoor swimming pool with waterslide
  • Separate casino building from the main resort
  • Several onsite restaurants, coffee shops and a bar
  • Extra beds/crib available
  • Full-service spa
  • Next to a golf course
  • Near Red Rock Canyon National Recreation area for outdoor activities

8. South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa (South of Strip)

South Point Hotel and Spa is still on Las Vegas Blvd, but it’s located a few miles from The Strip. It’s a fun place to stay with the family because it has everything!

It is a gaming property and requires walking through the casino area, but all the onsite amenities earn it a spot on my list. They’ve got a movie theater, a bowling alley, a decent pool, and an arcade!

There is a Steak and Shake restaurant on site for a kid-friendly bite to eat and ice cream after a long day of activities.

The pool area isn’t as scenic as some of the others on my list, but it’s quite large and provides plenty of room to get some sun and swimming time. There is also a separate kids’ pool for the little ones.

The guest rooms are beautifully appointed, and some have mountain views.

Family-friendly amenities at South Point Hotel

  • Large main pool and a kids’ pool
  • Arcade/game room
  • Bowling Alley
  • Evening entertainment
  • Full-service spa
  • Several onsite restaurants, cafes, and bars

9. Tahiti Village Resort & Spa (South of Strip)

Also located on South Las Vegas Blvd, the tropical island-themed Tahiti Village Resort is a non-gaming property that will make you forget you’re in Las Vegas while keeping all the action of The Strip accessible with the free shuttle service offered by the resort.

Their shuttle will take you to the more popular casino resorts and attractions on The Strip.

The property has one and two-bedroom apartment suites with living areas and full kitchens or kitchenettes, which are very convenient for families. It is a huge time and money saver for me to have access to a kitchen when traveling with kids.

The biggest draw of this resort is the pool area, which contains a nice lazy river along with several pools for swimming and hot tubs for relaxing. The pool complex, like the rest of the resort, is tropical-themed and beautiful.

There is also a game room with arcade games and activities that the kids (and probably adults, too) will love. The property’s awesome pool and lazy river and accessibility by shuttle to The Strip make it a great place to stay with the family in Las Vegas.

Family-friendly amenities at Tahiti Village Resort

  • Apartment suites with living area and kitchen
  • Large outdoor pool area and a lazy river with a tropical theme
  • Onsite restaurant, cafe, and bar
  • Extra bed/crib available
  • Full-service Spa

10. Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa (Henderson)

Twenty-five minutes southeast of The Las Vegas Strip, you’ll find Green Valley Ranch, a resort paradise. While technically in Henderson, it still counts as a Las Vegas resort.

Green Valley Ranch is owned by the local company Station Casinos and is the centerpiece of The District, a sprawling complex of dining and shopping, making it so you don’t have to leave the area if you don’t want to.

The resort opened in 2001 but still feels like a new luxurious resort. The pool area is large and has lots of different wading pools to refresh from the Las Vegas heat.

Like the South Point that we mentioned earlier, Green Vally Ranch also has a movie theater on site for a nice family night out. The kids will be happy to learn that there is an arcade, too!

The District and Green Valley Ranch are a one-stop shop for families wanting a Las Vegas getaway without the hustle and bustle of The Strip.

This is a convenient location for those wanting to visit Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon West.

Family-friendly amenities at Green Valley Ranch Resort

  • Large outdoor pool area
  • Game room, arcade
  • Kids Club (with fee)
  • Baby-sitting services
  • Onsite restaurant, bars, cafe
  • Extra beds/crib available
  • Next to The District at Green Valley Ranch shopping center

11. Red Rock Resort & Spa (Summerlin)

Red Rock Resort is twenty minutes west of The Strip in Summerlin and is Green Valley Ranch’s sister property. It is a newer property of the Station Casinos brand (the brand-new Durango Resort opened in late 2023).

Red Rock is considered to be the nicest of the Station Casinos properties and has the most to offer.

Like Green Valley Ranch is next to a shopping mall, Red Rock is right next to Downtown Summerlin, the outdoor mall with great dining and shopping options, along with a luxury movie theater.

If you don’t want to leave the resort, fear not; there are tons of restaurants and another movie theater on site. There is also a bowling alley and an arcade!

The pool is a favorite of Las Vegas locals. It’s large and beautiful and offers concerts, a bar area, and a poolside restaurant. It’s a great place to catch some rays or take a dip.

Red Rock truly has it all and is an ideal place to get away with the family away from the craziness of The Strip.

Family-friendly amenities at Red Rock Resort –

  • Large outdoor pool area, 2 pools
  • Arcade, game room, bowling alley
  • Several onsite restaurants
  • Full-service spa
  • Extra beds/crib available
  • Babysitting services
  • Next to Downtown Summerlin shopping and entertainment mall

  • Visit some of the popular National Parks near Las Vegas, like Zion, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, etc., by embarking on road trips.

Final Takeaways: Best Family-friendly Resorts in Las Vegas

Whether you want to be in the center of the action on The Strip or get away from all of that and still experience Vegas with the family, my list has you covered!

I would still recommend staying in one of the resorts on the Strip if this is your first visit to Vegas. That way, you will be closer to all the action.

If you still can’t decide where to stay in Vegas with your family, I would recommend staying on the Strip at either Vdara Hotel and Spa (luxury apartment suites) or Holiday Inn Club Vacations (mid-range apartment suites).

Up next, check my Las Vegas itinerary packed with things to do for the whole family!
